One of the most exciting emails I’ve received to date, was from the incredible team behind House Of Tammam, a bespoke bridal wear company, with a wonderful twist – every single gown is fair trade and fabrics are natural, re-cycled, sustainable and vegetarian. And there’s more…Tammam is the first and only ethical bridal range to offer a bespoke and a ready-to-wear collection.
Owned by St Martins graduate and “cutting edge designer” Lucy Tammam, here’s what Lucy had to say…
“The 2011 collection has been inspired by natural beauty and accentuating the female form, with oversized bustles and translucent balloon sleeves, exposed ankles in front of long trains and bare backs above nipped in waists.
Perfectly cut, immaculately tailored, beautifully designed gowns caressed by 1930s glamour, employing lovingly restored vintage lace, matched beautifully with luxe peace silks and organic cottons in cuts that are classic but unique. The Tammam eco-couture & bridal collection is available bespoke from the Tammam Atelier, while the made to order and prêt a porter ranges are available from selected boutiques.”
Inspiring and exciting, Tammam has already caught the attention of those in-the-know and will be featuring the new collection at London Fashion Week. So ‘of-the-moment’, Tammam offers cutting-edge designs to brides who want to create a wedding that’s not only sensitive and ethical, but immensely beautiful too. If House of Tammam Eco-Couture isn’t yet on your wedding radar…it certainly should be!
