I’ll Get By With A Little Help From My Friends!

So today I turn 29 years young. I am actually ok with that – partly because I was always the youngest in my year, so most of my mates are about to turn 30 {sorry gals – couldn’t resist!} but also, because I feel like I’m exactly where I should be in life. I feel like I’ve arrived. This year more than any other I have grown up and into myself and I feel much more like a woman than a child…

{Hen Weekend – 5am en route to Dublin}

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be taken on the most fabulous surprise hen do {in Dublin} and as I sat at the table over dinner, glancing at a group of amazing girls, most of whom I’ve known for ten plus years, I realised we’d grown up. It no longer felt appropriate to think of any of them as girls…we all looked like women!

We’ve all changed physically {and I must say, I’ve a rather hot-looking group of mates!} but what I find so wonderful and brilliant is although I can still see a glimpse of the girls I know and love, the women are even more amazing. Amongst my circle of trust, I’ve solicitors, teachers, doctors, nurses…even a pole artist and a trapeze artist! Many of whom are juggling demanding jobs with relationships,  marriage and motherhood and all doing a stellar job of it.

{Japanese teriyaki with my girls in Dublin}

So I guess this post is more of a thank you to them and to every other friend of a friend of a friend out there. I need my girls *aham* gals {more age appropriate?} and in a year when the biggest changes are taking place in my life, no matter what, no matter how demanding their jobs and home-lives are – they’ve been there for me and continue to be – as I will be for them.

I have five fabulous women walking down the aisle with me on September 17th and even more of whom are taking part in our wedding – all of them have a very special place in my heart. Each one has helped shape the woman I’ve become and as I enter this new chapter of my life, as Adam’s wife – I am so proud that they are still around me to lend their support. So here’s me, raising my half-full Birthday cup to treasured friends!

With Love, Boho Bride xx
