Afternoon all,

I hope everyone’s having a good week so far! Today I wanted to share with you a little project I’ve been working on for months really – and in the last few weeks it’s has come to fruition. It’s a collaborative project alongside one of my oldest and dearest friends Amry, born from something we have in common and something that we’re both trying to master the skills of – Motherhood!

Not Keeping Mum is a blog written by mothers for mothers. You can read a bit more about it and what to expect from it here.

I find writing a very cathartic experience, more often than not, if I write my troubles down, or simply jot down a to do list for the day my head becomes a lot clearer. The same can be said for Boho Bride. Initially it was an outlet for my creative ideas and later developed into a place where I could muse and vent over wedding woes as the big day approached…Well I’m sure it’s pretty clear to all that since then and since the arrival of our little boy I’ve found the blog a struggle to keep up – not so much the blogging itself - but creating content that I believe readers will enjoy…that I also enjoy!

The standard of wedding blogs continue to reach new highs daily – and to be part of that world you have to be beyond devoted. You need to be willing to live and breathe it all and whilst I adore the styling aspect of weddings {the design details still make my heart flutter} I am no longer passionate about writing about them…

And so, with a heavy heart I’m announcing the inevitable. From the end of October Boho Bride will no longer be updated. The site with remain – with it’s backlog of posts – as I still run my wedding and event design service, but for at least the near future, there will be no more new content posted  on the Boho Bride blog whilst I work out my next step in the big wide and creative world!

Thank you, thank you, thank you all for your support and friendship throughout. If you’re a Mum or Mum-to-be and would like to follow Amry and my journeys – we’ll see you over at NKM!

I was beyond excited to recieve an invite to the launch party of Rosie Parsons new Love Luxe Blog {I’ve mentioned on here before that it is THE place to be inspired when planning a celebration} as I knew, based on the impressive list of suppliers not only attending but partacking in the day, it was going to be one heck of a do!

With an array of styled tables and scenes spread across the beautiful Goldney Hall in Bristol – it was brimming with pretty and I left not only feeling full of tasty treats, but inspired to sink my teeth into as many creative projects as possible!

Morning all,

Well, it’s been a while!

The past eight weeks have been so busy but I have to admit I hadn’t realised how much time had past since I’d last updated the blog. This Summer has been one of incredible highs thanks to our little {near six month} addition…and waves of low, as my Dad continues to battle cancer. I’m afraid something had to give so I could focus on family and that ended up being Boho Bride. Apologies to all of those who’ve been wondering where promised features are…those said features are soon to follow!

For today’s feature I want to give a shout-out to a marvellous company Your Image on Canvas who kindly sent me a beautiful image of my baby boy which has taken pride of place in our office and serves as a daily reminder of how lucky myself and my hubby are!

It arrived on our wedding anniversary {yup, one year wed now} and was the perfect gift to mark our special day. I’m quite fussy about displaying images in our home – anything going up on our walls needs to be in a simple, elegant frame…so I wasn’t sure if a canvas would cut it – but I am so pleased with the quality of our picture; the edges are very neat and the shades of black and white are deep and crisp. A big thank you to Pete at Your Image on Canvus is in order – be sure to check them out.

Well hello there,

It’s been a while…I decided to take last week off as I was pretty sleep deprived – my little boy is teething already! I spent a lot of time staring at my laptop, trying to feel inspired, but eventually succumbed to my creative block & realised that if I can’t post with pleasure, I shouldn’t post at all!

This week is a different kettle of fish entirely. Why? Well it’s quite a big week for me – the last of my twenties!!! Yup – on Saturday I enter the ‘dirty thirties’ and I’m really looking forward to a fabulous new chapter…I’ve heard women feel at their most confident in there thirties – I hope this is true.

Anyhoo – in homage to my big day, this week I’ve decided to celebrate by, ahem ‘celebrating’ my favourite wedding colours…and there’s not a shade of grey in sight.

With more brides opting to make a style statement with their nails, I jumped at the chance to sample and review the new nail polish range from Eye Candy London. First to the market with a new metallic colour flip particle technology, the Eye Candy Colour Flip Nail Lacquers offer a duel hue finish in metallic colourways that are both on-trend and enduringly popular; Green With Envy, Regally Yours, Liquid Gold and Sexy And You Know It.

The hue I was sent {Liquid Gold} would have been my first choice were I myself buying, as I wear yellow gold jewellery and have very pale skin. When applying it, the first thing I noticed was the thickness of the polish – I always equate this with good quality as it not only requires less layers of polish but is very easy to apply. Colour-wise I was actually pleasantly surprised – when seeing the polish in its attractive packaging I wondered if it would look too garish and bright, but the “colour flip” actually creates quite an iridescent effect which blended well with my skin tone adding warmth and altering in the light.

I applied the polish the night before my Goddaughters christening, a good move as my dress was nude and navy; the two-tone effect worked perfectly, with the gold hues picking up on the nude tones, whilst I noticed in certain lights, there was also a greeny-blue shade showing.

Those who are regular readers know I have a 3 month old son – so my hands are well used at the moment! I wondered whether the pretty and perfect looking polish would survive more than 24 hrs of constant hand washing, nappy changes, general chores and the battles I have with my boys’ pram and car seat…oh and lets not forget the sheer volume of typing I do each day! Well, 5 days later and the only small chip I have is on the index finger of my left hand; I’m a “lefty” so that makes sense and I am really impressed with how stoically it’s stood up to the last few days of battering I’ve given my hands.

Aesthetically, I really like this polish – so much so that I’ve caught myself swooning over my nails on numerous occasions – in the same way I did when I first wore my engagement ring! My hubby also commented on how pretty my hands look and made a point of mentioning that he was pleased I was once again wearing my wedding band {my hands got really swollen in the latter part of my pregnancy} even though I’ve been wearing it for nearly a month now…so I guess it’s the first time my hands have caught his attention in a while – the effect of the polish perhaps?!

All in all, I’d say that the Eye Candy London Colour Flip Nail Polish is a ruddy good buy; priced at a very reasonable £8 its quality rivals the metallic sheen designer brand polish I wore for my wedding day which cost double the price. So if you’re a planning bride thinking of indulging in some statement nails for your big day, the Eye Candy range, now available in Sainsbury’s is definitely worth a look.
