Introducing Froufrou Bridal Boutique Thu, 01 Mar 2012 06:00:15 +0000

Image credits: David Burke Photography

I had to pick my jaw off the floor a few days ago when I received an email from Nicole and Helena who run Froufrou Bridal Boutique. Located in Tonbridge Wells, Kent, this gorgeous store is what I would describe as a ‘destination boutique’ as it offers its clients the full bridal styling experience. With interiors boasting a vintage twist and steering well away from wedding fluffiness, the Froufrou Bridal ethos is to “create and experience our Bride’s won’t forget.”

Froufrou Bridal offer a stunning collection of vintage inspired gowns from four of the Uk’s leading designers. This includes show-casing Matthew Williamson’s amazing debut bridal collection and gowns by Stewart Parvin; they have also been contacted to become the exclusive stockist in the UK to US designers Sarah Seven {swoon} and Ivy & Aster’s bridal ranges and alongside the exquisite collection of hand-picked gowns they hold a beautiful selection of bridal accessories including veils, jewellery, shoes and lingerie.

Add to this the uber stylish surroundings furnished with an eclectic mix of antique cabinets, stunning paintings, and adorned with chandeliers this is the perfect boudoir for every bride. J’adore!

And there’s more in support of the British forces, the ladies  offer a 15 % discount to all military weddings and show their support for ‘Help the Heroes’ foundation by advertising with Military weddings, where 50% of advertising costs are donated to the charity…

…How amazing is this boutique – and how amazing are these ladies? Make sure you check out their fabulous website!

Introducing Halliday’s Vintage China Tue, 21 Feb 2012 06:03:31 +0000

Last week I received the most charming little gift in the post – it was a little pack of information and a very tasty honeybush & red ginseng tea bag from Imogen at Halliday’s Vintage - it was a very lovely gesture.

A new company located in Birmingham {they launched last week, on Valentine’s Day}, that covers the Midlands {and can deliver to the whole of the UK} Halliday’s offers vintage china hire for weddings and events.

Halliday’s offer “a stylish and elegant collection of mix-and-match pieces, all hand picked for that special touch. Our carefully sourced vintage china collection spans the 1800s-1950s, and includes teaware, crockery, cake stands, china, cutlery, and vintage inspired accessories.” You will only find original pieces within their collection.

A small company, Imogen and her team offer a very personal service which includes a ‘build your own’ package as well as three standard hire packages to suit different sized events. For more information on Halliday’s and the services they offer – make sure you have a browse of their website.

Introducing Bonbon Balloons Thu, 16 Feb 2012 06:00:03 +0000

I just had to share this fabulous new company Bonbon Balloons! The company’s concept is simply to create beautiful balloons. Each balloon comes with hand crafted balloon strings and each one is completely bespoke. You can send a Bonbon balloon as a gift for any occasion and on arrival it will float up out of the box and the strings will carry your own specially personalised message…

Balloons have always been popular at weddings, but there’s recently been a huge researgence in the wedding industry, with couples not only using balloon as decor but intergrating them in other ways, like engagement shoots, save-the-date cards or {and perhaps I’m biased as we did this} to line the aisle at the wedding ceremony itself.

Intricate and eye-catching Bonbon Balloons are seriously swoon-worthy and what’s more the company also offers a bespoke design service for private events such as weddings and parties! They can explore colours and themes to develop something totally individual to your event. Tres bon!

Andrea & Stefano’s Malta Wedding Film – Memories on Film Wed, 01 Feb 2012 06:00:26 +0000
I was so excited to see this awesome film arrive in my inbox last week! Submitted by Andrew Brown of Memories on Film – I’ve been a fan of the company’s work for some time. Creating the most incredible films and lasting memories for Bride’s and Grooms both nationally and internationally, here’s what Andrew had to say about Andrea and Stefano’s cute, vibrant and oh-so-fun nuptuals…

andrea + stefano /// coming soon from Memories On Film on Vimeo.

“I filmed the wedding of Andrea and Stefano last year in Malta. Andrea is British and Stefano is Italian, so Malta being English and Italian speaking was the perfect choice for their big day and it also helped that Andrea is a singer/musician who is actually quite well-known in Malta!
Anyway, the theme was love and everyone had to wear a heart, the weather was perfect for the outdoor ceremony, the Italians wouldn’t stop shouting and Andrea flew out her band to play live kareoke in the evening.”
So what do you think? Beautifully put together by the uber talented Malta Wedding Company I am more than a little in love with Andrea & Stefano’s stunning day…
Check out some more of Memories on Film’s fabulous work and have a browse of their website pronto!

Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair Sunday 26th Feb Mon, 30 Jan 2012 06:00:32 +0000

Following their success of the first vintage wedding fair in the South-West, the second Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair will once again be taking place at Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo Gardens and this year it’s happening on Sunday, 26th February from 10am to 4pm.

Having scoured the country to bring you some of the best vintage dress exhibitors, fabulous corset makers, gorgeous head gear and stunning cakes as well as exceptional photographers, beautiful, bespoke stationery, fantastic florists and much, much more, co-owner Ali Cook says “We want the day to be fun and inspirational, so plan to have everything you could need for a vintage wedding all under one roof with retro and romantic entertainment and lots of vintage goodies for brides, their husbands-to be AND their guests. We are passionate about vintage and our aim is for the Fair to be a really authentic vintage experience”

The fair should attract anyone who loves vintage and there will be vintage hair and make-up demos, beautiful flowers and amazing decorations. All that and entry is absolutely free. And of course, it wouldn’t be right without tea and cake, supplied by Zoo caterers, Milburns, and served on our gorgeous Bristol Vintage crockery!

I attended last year as a bride-to-be with two of my bridesmaids and the three of us had the most wonderful time. The atmosphere was really relaxed – not at all stuffy or intimidating like some of the wedding fairs out there and offered a wonderful selection of talented suppliers. I hope to make it again this year – so perhaps I’ll see you there!

Flower Designs By Allene Daly – Devon Florist Mon, 19 Dec 2011 06:00:22 +0000

Happy Monday all,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today I’ve the pleasure of introducing the new website of my friend and sometimes colleague Allene. Flower Designs By Allene Daly was launched earlier this month and I am so pleased that I can now share it with you all. Allene and I have worked on numerous shoots together over the past year and she even created the stunning arrangements for our wedding - I simply adore her approach to creating such pretty floral designs…

{Image Tyack Photography}

“Combining sophisticated, vintage styles and country chic with a modern twist for weddings, functions and events, with the aim to provide a unique, inspirational and personal floristry service which meets the customer’s requirements”, Allene is very instinctive with her arragements, she just gets it right every time!

{Image Lucy Shergold}

If you’d like to see more of her stunning work, have a browse of the gallery or grab yourself a copy of this months issue of Wed Devon. Allene created the flower designs for the Bohemian Rhapsody shoot I styled and Wed Magazine also kindly featured our wedding.
