An American Girl’s Dream…

With all these beautiful autumnal colours and textures I couldn’t resist posting this shoot today! As photographer Shannon Grant Photography explained when describing it “an American girl’s dream!” Captured in Massachusetts, with soon-to-be Bride and photographer Alexandra Roberts in the starring role, for me it epitomises everything you’d expect from a rustic, vintage inspired wedding in the Wild Wild West!

Rustic Wedding Inspiration – Styled Photo Shoot

Happy Tuesday!

Todays shoot follows on the the mood board I published yesterday. Styled by moi as part of Dressed With Love, my wedding & event styling business and captured beautifully by Rosie Parsons we were lucky enough to work with some fantastic South West suppliers…and what’s more, we were able to use a real Bride & Groom; Elise and Steve who were beyond wonderful to work with!

The gorgeous gown was supplied by Crediton boutique The Ivory Secret; a Charlotte Balbier design it’s super flattering and was paired with a Rainbow Club veil and the gorgeous Noah crown from House of Istria. Grooms suit is from Marks and Spencers {belongs to my husband!} and I styled it up with an ancient pair of braces raided from my Dad’s wardrobe…works perfectly with this laid back, country style. Elise’s hair was styled byBristol based Claire Hill, who created a tousled, unstructured look.

The stunning floral arrangement was created by Emma Vowles who perfectly captured the wild, rustic look we were going for…

The table used is actually my desk from home! The small vintage-looking pots were picked up from Homebese…I covered them in we soil and pasted bio yogurt on a couple to age them a few weeks before the shoot. I bought herbs from a local garden centre and potted them in, knowing that they’d make great looking favours! In each pot I also placed a wooden lollypop stick and wrote the words ‘love grows’ for added sentiment.

The horseshoe was from a pound shop, apothocary jar {used for lemonade} is from TK Maxx and slate sign came from Sainsbury’s garden section…

All-in-all, our rustic look actually doesn’t come with a hefty price tag. As it’s quite a natural and weathered look, it’s possible to source items from home, whether it be seasonal fruit or home-grown blooms…it can and should be done!

Our rustic photo shoot was originally featured on Rock My Wedding. You can see their gorgeous feature here

Today’s inspiration comes courtesy of  Hayley Ruth Photography and Kate Fletcher of Vintage Style Hire, which ”supplies brides, wedding planners, stylists and photographers with unique vintage props to give their weddings, events and photo shoots style and originality”. The shoot was put together by Kate to showcase how you could style your day using her vast collection of props. This is the first of a series of shoots and I think they are a wonderful source of inspiration for vintage loving Brides! It’s so useful to see how you can use items of furniture and accessories to make your day truly unique. And how stunning is that salmon chair…?!

I’m lucky enough to have Kate helping out on our wedding day, both in the capacity of on-the-day co-ordinator and as a fellow stylist – I can’t wait to raid her collection of goodies!  If you’d like to find out more about Kate Fletcher and Hayley Ruth’s services, I’ve listed details below.

A Rustic Provence Styled Shoot

This is the kind of styled photoshoot that makes my heart ache…in the best possible way. Relaxed yet beautiful styling, inspired by natures palette, it proves that a wedding can be best dressed when a Bride and Groom have the confidence to let their surroundings do the talking.

Captured perfectly by Andrea & Marcus and beautifully styled by Andrea herself, I adore everything about it; the light, the story it tells….oh and the Sarah Seven dress! Swoon…

And here’s who made it happen: Submitted via Two Bright Lights; Photographer, Andrea And Marcus; Styled and planned by Andrea of Andrea And Marcus; Dress by Sarah Seven

I’m more than a little in love with this wedding goodness; how about you?

A DIY Day-After Wedding Shoot

Day-after wedding shoots are another genius wedding concept from across-the-pond that’s starting to gain in popularity with UK couples. A chance for Brides and Grooms to have some intimate {and fun} snaps in the wake of wedding bliss, once the hectic day itself has passed…

Todays shoot is from Tara Welch Photography via Two Bright Lights and it’s brimming with pretty. From the swoonworthy colours to the kooky DIY details, there’s so much of Autumn and Adam’s personality in these stunning images. They’ve certainly inspired me, so enjoy!

I’m so in love with those streamers! The Bride and Groom are artists – I think you can tell, they’ve a real eye for colour. You can have a peek of more of Tara’s stunning images here

Mad Hatter’s Photo Shoot – Styled Shoot for The Millbrook Estate

Today I have the pleasure of unveiling the photo shoot I styled for The Millbrook Estate, in collaboration with Lucy Shergold Photography. As I said in yesterdays post this all came about when we met the lovely Kate and Bob Boothby, who own Millbrook and decided to create a shoot that showed off their beautiful and quirky grounds…and so Bob came up with the Mad Hatter’s theme, as it meant we could incorporate some of the estate’s more unusual features – and have some fun! You can see the inspiration board here

A great excuse to meet and work with some very talented local suppliers; Lucy and I were introduced by the Boothby’s to the lovely Leisa of Devon Catering, who supplied the pretty (and very tasty) cupcakes and we also took the opportunity to invite Sarah Bayley of Two Green Monkeys, who came on board to show off some of her gorgeous crafts, as well as uber talented florist Allene Daly and the wonderful hair stylist Claire Mathers of Creative Wedding Hair, both of whom I’ve booked for my own wedding!

We decided that this shoot should be about how couples can best use the venue for their wedding day, the look needed to be inspirational yet attainable…that was our priority and so we chose not to borrow any wedding gowns or jewellery – instead our aim was to show off how to use the space, inspired by the surroundings…
