As spring has well and truly sprung I thought it would be nice to kick the week off with this beautiful backyard wedding. Alli and Cameron celebrated a day brimming with colourful details and photographer Christi Falls has captured the laid back charm perfectly…

And I can’t resist mentioning this quote that Bride Alli used to describe her and Cameron’s first meeting ” And then my soul saw you and it kind of went, oh, there you are, I’ve been looking for you” …*sigh* how stunning is that?!

With Love,

Sarah, Boho Bride xx

PS – This gorgeous wedding was submitted via Two Bright Lights and I also thought it worth mentioning that Christi Falls Photography is having a huge give-away on her blog – free wedding photography and co-ordination! She travels internationally, so it’s well worth a look. Have a gander of the details here

Brimming with colourful, rustic details, this beautiful wedding is boho to the max! Celebrated at a private residence the ceremony not only took place on a gorgeous Florida beach but right at the water’s edge at sunset – amazing…and don’t you love the tree and muslin arbor? Breathtaking.

Set on the shore of Lake Michigan in an area where the Bride spent her childhood summer’s - surrounded by friends and family, Kirsten and Evan’s special day was a simple celebration by the waters edge…

It’s always so lovely to see a wedding full of vibrant colours…and aren’t those flower crowns stunning?

A Personal Wedding with Red Accents http://www.bohobride.co.uk/real-weddings/a-personal-wedding-with-red-accents.html http://www.bohobride.co.uk/real-weddings/a-personal-wedding-with-red-accents.html#comments Fri, 17 Feb 2012 06:00:49 +0000 http://www.bohobride.co.uk/?p=5986

I thought I’d end the week full circle with a wedding that’s brimming with beautiful red details – very Valentine’s. What’s more Mackenzie and Rodrigo’s wedding was planned with very personal touches {like drinking shots of pickleback rather than a champagne toast!} inspired by the bar where they met. Just my cup of tea! Here’s what photographer Michelle Clemente-Lange had to say…

“Mackenzie and Rodrigo were married at the same location where they met, a cute little Irish bar in Morristown NJ. It meant a lot to them to get married there as they have so many happy memories of the night they first met. These two have a chemistry normally saved for the big screen, both their wedding and engagement session reminded my of The Notebook”

I adore this wedding from Paige Lowe Photography - it’s beautifully unique…and why? Because it was created using an array of personal touches that represent things dear to the Bride and Groom. World travellers, Sheila and Max’s day featured flags from all the countries they’ve visited together, they read hand written vows and the Bride’s sister made all the desserts…oh and lets not forget the gorgeous seating plan painted onto two old glass doors – inspired idea!

With their married name being Dove, there was really know other theme for Stacy and Joe to choose for their wedding. Brimming with romantic details, Stacy created the invites, programmes, favours and decor herself and the results are stunning…

Captured perfectly by ZA Designz, I simply adore this wedding and it’s personal, pretty details – just goes to show how far you can go with a simple concept. What do you think?

So much love and attention has gone into Bianca and Tristen’s wedding. Overflowing with diy details to create an eclectic mix of boho meets glamour {tree chandelier anyone?}, this intimate backyard celebration is seriously swoon-worthy!

What you you think?

A Pagan Wedding with Ivy…and Robots! http://www.bohobride.co.uk/real-weddings/a-pagan-wedding-with-ivy-and-robots.html http://www.bohobride.co.uk/real-weddings/a-pagan-wedding-with-ivy-and-robots.html#comments Fri, 13 Jan 2012 06:00:02 +0000 http://www.bohobride.co.uk/?p=5092

Today’s wedding is just about as boho as you can get. A free thinking Bride and Groom who tore up the rule-book and had celebrated their wedding, their way – brilliant. Bride Jen has written such a detailed description of their wedding I need not ramble on…enjoy!

“I had never planned to get married and I really didn’t want a traditional wedding – at all, whereas Gavin did. We spent a lot of time coming to a plan which would suit both of us.

The theme of our wedding was Robots & Ivy When Gavin and I first got together he wouldn¹t let me round his house for ages and ages. I began to think there was a horrible, deep, dark secret, but it turned out he has a collection of robots, was worried that I would run away from him in horror! As for the Ivy, well I am somewhat of a tree-hugging hippy and have been somewhat obsessed with ivy for quite some time. In Celtic mythology it symbolises fidelity, wedded bliss and friendship.

I live in jeans and docs and when I went to try on a wedding dress (I felt that I had to) I just burst into tears. Well that was that. My mum found a dressmaker for me, and she was great – Kerry at Very Me. She found out what I was most comfortable in (aside from my jeans) and then we went from there. We also wanted to make my outfit potentially wearable in the future again – so it is a top, skirt and coat.

As a Pagan, it was really important to me that everything was as low-impact as possible, all of the flowers were grown locally and the food was all sourced from local farms and shops, I made lots of the decorations myself (with the help of some friends) and a friend made the amazing cake. I made 175 meters of bloody bunting and Gavin made the robot cake topper.

The handfasting was an important part and although Gavin isn’t Pagan he liked the symbolism of the ceremony a great deal. Two of my closest friends wrote and did the ceremony and even included some geeky science in the form of the pouring of the water from the two springs in Glastonbury into a single chalice becoming “entangled particles” which could not now be separated.

We wanted the day to be as relaxed as possible – we are not formal people and so we had blankets and wine outside. Photographer Hayley Ruth did an amazing job of capturing the relaxed spirit. We were very lucky with the weather – it had rained almost solidly for most of July, but it was a beautiful day, so we were able to spend most of the day outside.

I loved the day, although my word of advice to anyone is to have someone running the show on the day. It maybe because I have organised so many events (and I am a control freak), but I spent the whole day dealing with suppliers and doing things, rather than relaxing and enjoying it. Having said that I was not expecting to have such a great day – Gavin and I really enjoyed ourselves!”

Photographer Hayley has also written a lovely description of the day on her blog with even more lovely pics!

Sarah, Boho Bride xx

An Intimate Elopement in Blush Tones… http://www.bohobride.co.uk/real-weddings/an-intimate-elopement-in-blush-tones.html http://www.bohobride.co.uk/real-weddings/an-intimate-elopement-in-blush-tones.html#comments Wed, 11 Jan 2012 10:06:25 +0000 http://www.bohobride.co.uk/?p=5485

Today’s offering is oh-so-beautiful. It’s the kind of wedding you tend to see in films {Sex and the City anyone?} where the Bride and Groom have the guts to stand up for what they want – which is usually something very simple. An intimate and stylish elopement with a party afterwards…and it’s brimming with personality.  J’adore!

Jenny and Jeff were so smitten with each other they decided a large ceremony wasn’t for them. They wanted a small and intimate wedding ceremony and a house reception. The couple eloped and celebrated with a small evening reception at Jeff’s parents’ house with around 60 guests. This beautiful day was relaxed and just the way they wanted it…

Black, white…and shocks of colour in between! http://www.bohobride.co.uk/real-weddings/black-white-and-shocks-of-colour-in-between.html http://www.bohobride.co.uk/real-weddings/black-white-and-shocks-of-colour-in-between.html#comments Thu, 05 Jan 2012 06:00:41 +0000 http://www.bohobride.co.uk/?p=5431

I’ve been sitting on this wedding for a while as did the rounds on a couple other blogs last year, but I couldn’t resist it any longer! Having spent the last couple of days blogging very classic, neutral wedding styles I felt we were in need of some splashes of colour – and this wedding more than delivers in vibrancy and contrast. The styling is simply stunning – personal, quirky and diy…need I say more?

Here’s what photographer Elisabeth Perontin had to say…”I love to shoot retro-themed styled weddings and this was the one that looked most like the wedding I’d dream for me. Aurelie wore a wonderful 20′s style dress by ‘Lili M’a very talented designer from Reims, France and an absolutely beautiful bouquet of peonies. She also wore a pair of stunning shoes by Vivienne Westwood.

Aurelie created everything herself and I think that’s why this wedding was so unique and because her and Sylvian make an awesome couple – it was a real pleasure to photograph them!”

Swoon!!!
