Our girl needs a frock she can rock, that’ll show off her personality and here’s my inspiration…

Let’s Colour! Honeymoon Wardrobe Ideas… http://www.bohobride.co.uk/inspiration/lets-colour-honeymoon-wardrobe-ideas.html http://www.bohobride.co.uk/inspiration/lets-colour-honeymoon-wardrobe-ideas.html#comments Wed, 11 May 2011 05:00:41 +0000 http://www.bohobride.co.uk/?p=2689 I’ve received so many emails of late from fabulous high street stores, offering their garb in the most brilliant array of technicolour! This pleases me - I colour and so it’s inspired me to create a board of pretty items fit for a newlywed. What better way to sustain that blissful newlywed glow {and turn a few heads} than with a honeymoon wardrobe brimming with vibrant shades of colour…

Wedding Journal – Anthropologie http://www.bohobride.co.uk/inspiration/wedding-journal-anthropologie.html http://www.bohobride.co.uk/inspiration/wedding-journal-anthropologie.html#comments Mon, 09 May 2011 09:03:38 +0000 http://www.bohobride.co.uk/?p=2664

Last week I decided to start writing a wedding journal. I know blogging is a great way to record our plans, but I’m a sentimental gal and would love to have something tangible to pass onto any children we might {hope to} have. This gorgeous journal was featured quite recently in Elle Decoration. From Anthropologie it prompts you to record your thoughts and feelings in the moment. Delicious. I’ve just ordered my copy and can’t wait to start filling its pages!

Wedding Hair Ideas – Boho Wedding Hair http://www.bohobride.co.uk/inspiration/wedding-hair-ideas-boho-wedding-hair.html http://www.bohobride.co.uk/inspiration/wedding-hair-ideas-boho-wedding-hair.html#comments Tue, 03 May 2011 05:00:45 +0000 http://www.bohobride.co.uk/?p=2601 I’ve been struggling to decide on what to do with my hair for our wedding…I want it to be spacial but still feel like me! My friends are divided and some have suggested I wear it in a loose ‘up’ do, whilst others think I should stay true to my messy, wavy ’bed hair’, which is how I look most days…

No decision has been made on my wedding hair yet – it’s sure to be a little boho-esque and unstructured, here’s my inspiration…

Here’s to a happy wedding day and a wonderful future to William and Catherine! I can’t imagine how nervous Kate must be – wonder if she’ll be indulging in a strong cup of tea to steady those nerves…

I’ll be attending a street party right outside my front door…hope you’ve all got something fun planned too!

Traditional English Wedding with a Colonial African Twist – Mood Board for Ivy http://www.bohobride.co.uk/inspiration/traditional-english-wedding-with-a-colonial-african-twist-mood-board-for-ivy.html http://www.bohobride.co.uk/inspiration/traditional-english-wedding-with-a-colonial-african-twist-mood-board-for-ivy.html#comments Thu, 21 Apr 2011 05:00:56 +0000 http://www.bohobride.co.uk/?p=2509 Today’s board is dedicated to Ivy, who contacted me with a request for some help with creating the perfect palette for her traditional English wedding this August. Here’s what Ivy had to say…

“I am really struggling to get my colours to work in my head. I originally wanted a yellow wedding (I LOVE YELLOW!!!), but I found that yellow & white can be quite a flat, boring pallet. My husband-to-be ONLY likes the colour blue though (of the light variety), so I thought it’d be a nice idea to marry the two – and strangely add in a hint of creamy peach.

Matthew & I are getting married in a very cute teeny English church in Buckinghamshire & then having our reception at Hedsor House – picture green fields/big old mansion house. We’re planning on having a traditional / elegant wedding – but FUN & laid back. I’m originally from South Africa so will have a lot of family flying over for the do – thought it’d be a nice idea to mix the English with the African & have a colonial/quirky feel.”

Ivy sent me some gorgeous images to help me along the way, one was of their venue (top of the board) and I also got a peek at the couple behing this request…a seriously gorgeous pair!

My aim was to find images that softened the look – as Ivy mentioned she found the pairing of white & yellow too harsh. The blue might only add to the cool tones, so I think adding a hint of peach is an inspired idea! The beautiful venue commands respect, but by adding a vintage {colonial inspired} edge to the styling, Ivy and Matthew can afford to have some fun and include little treats like an ice-cream van or quirky {zebra print sock!} details.

Huge congratulations to Ivy and Matthew and keep us posted with your wedding news!

Get Chalky – Wedding Chalkboard Inspiration http://www.bohobride.co.uk/inspiration/get-chalky-wedding-chalkboard-inspiration.html http://www.bohobride.co.uk/inspiration/get-chalky-wedding-chalkboard-inspiration.html#comments Mon, 11 Apr 2011 06:00:07 +0000 http://www.bohobride.co.uk/?p=2327 I’m still in the process of decorating my office/our dining room and one of the features I’m really looking forward to creating is a chalkboard wall to help keep me organised and…well they’re pretty darn fabulous aren’t they? Chalkboards have also become a wonderful addition to many weddings and people are getting really creative with how they’re used. So here’s some chalky inspiration…
