Styled Photo Shoot on Love My Dress!!!

Morning all,

Today I over-slept for the first time in years, but awoke to a hazy flurry of excitement when I received the news that the first photo shoot I’d helped style had been published on the beautiful Love My Dress blog.

For a full write-up of who was involved, how the day came together and all the images, make sure you visit Annabel’s fabulous blog. Here’s a little more about how I got involved…

Local Devon photographer Rosie Parson’s approached me to help style a photo shoot for Hooe’s Yurts back in April and I of course jumped at the chance. Until then, I’d admired Rosie’s talent from afar, so it was incredible to be brought on board to work with her and other amazing local suppliers.

Amy from Hooe’s Yurts has a background in event planning and a real flair for design – so it was really kind of her to have me involved and give me the chance to show off my passion for styling. Amy’s wanted to style the shoot in keeping her beautiful Yurts; ‘eco-chic’with hints of vintage.

I was conscious that the Yurts needed to be the main focus of the shoot, so any styling I did, had to compliment and with some quite defined areas to dress it seemed apt to create some distinct styles, involving {my Grandmothers} delicate china, some rustic accessories, and opulent silverware and the lustre vases I’d collected for our own wedding. Amy styled the bedroom herself and made it look very classic, eclectic and most of all, romantic.

For accessories for the Bride’s, I approached my dear friend Katy Howieson who made the stunning head dress just for the shoot and the lovely Sarah Hickey for jewellery.

The one item I hadn’t banked on loaning was my fiancé Adam, who at the very last minute, offered to help me trug boxes to and from the car; when Amy mentioned her ‘Groom’ had pulled out, leaving her husband Max to awkwardly cosy up to his sister in law, I convinced Adam to ‘take one for the team’ and spend the day nuzzling the ear of a ridiculously attractive 20 year old!

Love My Dress creator Annabel has such an eye for elegance and has made the already stunning images look oh-so-pretty on her lovely site. So a big thank you Annabel, to Rosie and Amy for the wonderful opportunity and to all involved!

With Love, Boho Bride xx
