Rustic Wedding Inspiration – Styled Photo Shoot

October 18, 2011

Happy Tuesday!

Todays shoot follows on the the mood board I published yesterday. Styled by moi as part of Dressed With Love, my wedding & event styling business and captured beautifully by Rosie Parsons we were lucky enough to work with some fantastic South West suppliers…and what’s more, we were able to use a real Bride & Groom; Elise and Steve who were beyond wonderful to work with!

The gorgeous gown was supplied by Crediton boutique The Ivory Secret; a Charlotte Balbier design it’s super flattering and was paired with a Rainbow Club veil and the gorgeous Noah crown from House of Istria. Grooms suit is from Marks and Spencers {belongs to my husband!} and I styled it up with an ancient pair of braces raided from my Dad’s wardrobe…works perfectly with this laid back, country style. Elise’s hair was styled byBristol based Claire Hill, who created a tousled, unstructured look.

The stunning floral arrangement was created by Emma Vowles who perfectly captured the wild, rustic look we were going for…

The table used is actually my desk from home! The small vintage-looking pots were picked up from Homebese…I covered them in we soil and pasted bio yogurt on a couple to age them a few weeks before the shoot. I bought herbs from a local garden centre and potted them in, knowing that they’d make great looking favours! In each pot I also placed a wooden lollypop stick and wrote the words ‘love grows’ for added sentiment.

The horseshoe was from a pound shop, apothocary jar {used for lemonade} is from TK Maxx and slate sign came from Sainsbury’s garden section…

All-in-all, our rustic look actually doesn’t come with a hefty price tag. As it’s quite a natural and weathered look, it’s possible to source items from home, whether it be seasonal fruit or home-grown blooms…it can and should be done!

Our rustic photo shoot was originally featured on Rock My Wedding. You can see their gorgeous feature here

Great post and great ideas. Love the drawer full of lemons. One good option is to get your friends and family to collect glass jars over a few months and then use those to hold flowers, pebbles, tea lights etc. The varying shapes add fantastic interest to any table. Using herbs in the floral displays gives a superb aroma to any room.

    A little example here…
