Coastal Inspired Mood Board – Seaside Wedding

February 29, 2012 by

Following on from yesterday’s gorgeous real wedding I’ve created a coastal inspired mood perfect for a seaside celebration. Taking the lead from nature’s palette keep things simple with minimal styling – a loose fitted dress, bare feet or flip-flops and decorate with seaside elements such as shells, starfish and sea grass…fabrics like hessian would work well too.

Brimming with colourful, rustic details, this beautiful wedding is boho to the max! Celebrated at a private residence the ceremony not only took place on a gorgeous Florida beach but right at the water’s edge at sunset – amazing…and don’t you love the tree and muslin arbor? Breathtaking.

In Love With…Lace Wedding Veils

February 27, 2012 by

As we packed up our gorgeous but tiny cottage this afternoon ahead of our impending move I came across my beautiful Claire Pettibone wedding dress and couldn’t resist a peek…being 8 months pregnant there was no way I could give it a cheeky try, but I did place my delicate lace trimmed veil upon my head and it made me feel a little less like a swollen whale – in fact it made my tummy jump. In homage to that lovely feeling I thought I’d share some lace wedding veil love…

Introducing Halliday’s Vintage China

Last week I received the most charming little gift in the post – it was a little pack of information and a very tasty honeybush & red ginseng tea bag from Imogen at Halliday’s Vintage - it was a very lovely gesture.

A new company located in Birmingham {they launched last week, on Valentine’s Day}, that covers the Midlands {and can deliver to the whole of the UK} Halliday’s offers vintage china hire for weddings and events.

Halliday’s offer “a stylish and elegant collection of mix-and-match pieces, all hand picked for that special touch. Our carefully sourced vintage china collection spans the 1800s-1950s, and includes teaware, crockery, cake stands, china, cutlery, and vintage inspired accessories.” You will only find original pieces within their collection.

A small company, Imogen and her team offer a very personal service which includes a ‘build your own’ package as well as three standard hire packages to suit different sized events. For more information on Halliday’s and the services they offer – make sure you have a browse of their website.

A Personal Wedding with Red Accents

I thought I’d end the week full circle with a wedding that’s brimming with beautiful red details – very Valentine’s. What’s more Mackenzie and Rodrigo’s wedding was planned with very personal touches {like drinking shots of pickleback rather than a champagne toast!} inspired by the bar where they met. Just my cup of tea! Here’s what photographer Michelle Clemente-Lange had to say…

“Mackenzie and Rodrigo were married at the same location where they met, a cute little Irish bar in Morristown NJ. It meant a lot to them to get married there as they have so many happy memories of the night they first met. These two have a chemistry normally saved for the big screen, both their wedding and engagement session reminded my of The Notebook”

Introducing Bonbon Balloons

February 16, 2012 by

I just had to share this fabulous new company Bonbon Balloons! The company’s concept is simply to create beautiful balloons. Each balloon comes with hand crafted balloon strings and each one is completely bespoke. You can send a Bonbon balloon as a gift for any occasion and on arrival it will float up out of the box and the strings will carry your own specially personalised message…

Balloons have always been popular at weddings, but there’s recently been a huge researgence in the wedding industry, with couples not only using balloon as decor but intergrating them in other ways, like engagement shoots, save-the-date cards or {and perhaps I’m biased as we did this} to line the aisle at the wedding ceremony itself.

Intricate and eye-catching Bonbon Balloons are seriously swoon-worthy and what’s more the company also offers a bespoke design service for private events such as weddings and parties! They can explore colours and themes to develop something totally individual to your event. Tres bon!

A Very Boho Engagement Shoot…

I simply ADORE this engagement shoot! Submitted by Brent at Live View Studios it epitomises the laid back bohemian attitude towards weddings that I am so passionate about – this shoot just screams personality and the couple’s very individual style. Robert and Alexis are about as boho a couple as you can get; they met at a wilderness camp in Utah and after falling in love, Alexis packed up her life and moved to North Carolina to be with her beloved.

It’s this distance travelled to be together that inspired their beautiful engagment shoot – complete with maps, travel mags and vintage suitcases, their love story has been perfectly captured in the images below. Did I mention that I really ♥ this shoot..?
