Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair Sunday 26th Feb

Following their success of the first vintage wedding fair in the South-West, the second Bristol Vintage Wedding Fair will once again be taking place at Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo Gardens and this year it’s happening on Sunday, 26th February from 10am to 4pm.

Having scoured the country to bring you some of the best vintage dress exhibitors, fabulous corset makers, gorgeous head gear and stunning cakes as well as exceptional photographers, beautiful, bespoke stationery, fantastic florists and much, much more, co-owner Ali Cook says “We want the day to be fun and inspirational, so plan to have everything you could need for a vintage wedding all under one roof with retro and romantic entertainment and lots of vintage goodies for brides, their husbands-to be AND their guests. We are passionate about vintage and our aim is for the Fair to be a really authentic vintage experience”

The fair should attract anyone who loves vintage and there will be vintage hair and make-up demos, beautiful flowers and amazing decorations. All that and entry is absolutely free. And of course, it wouldn’t be right without tea and cake, supplied by Zoo caterers, Milburns, and served on our gorgeous Bristol Vintage crockery!

I attended last year as a bride-to-be with two of my bridesmaids and the three of us had the most wonderful time. The atmosphere was really relaxed – not at all stuffy or intimidating like some of the wedding fairs out there and offered a wonderful selection of talented suppliers. I hope to make it again this year – so perhaps I’ll see you there!

Shoe In Love…

Happy Friday! I’ve spent a good few hours lusting after heels – I guess in response to the fact that my feet are swollen and I’ve been wearing flats for what feels like forever…all for the best cause of course! Never-the-less, I’d like to think my hubby might have taken the hint & will be presenting me with a pretty pair of heels once our baby blue is born – for now, I’ll just keep dreaming.

Whilst on the hunt for the perfect pair of neautral coloured shoes, I came across some stunning heels in the bridal section of NET-A-PORTER  and just had to share…

I can imagine a city bride in a shorter length frock wearing the beautiful Alexander Mcqueen Resin Leaf Peep-Toes and for simple yet chic, the Miu Miu Satin Platform Pumps are right on the money! Swoon

It’s the kind of shoot I love to see and hope it inspires other Brides to do things their way…unique and personal weddings are by far the best kind!

With their married name being Dove, there was really know other theme for Stacy and Joe to choose for their wedding. Brimming with romantic details, Stacy created the invites, programmes, favours and decor herself and the results are stunning…

Captured perfectly by ZA Designz, I simply adore this wedding and it’s personal, pretty details – just goes to show how far you can go with a simple concept. What do you think?

Shabby Chic with Girly Glamour Mood Board

January 19, 2012 by

Today’s’ board was quite hard to name – so I hope I’ve managed to translate what I mean! This board was inspired by a friend who’s wedding style is an eclectic mix of high glamour, feminine tones {muted pinks, peach and blues} with a vintage inspired, distressed sort of shabby chic bent – think peeling furniture, juxtaposed against sumptuous fabrics and reflective, shiny, blingy objects, such as mirrored vases and glass votives. I think it’s a very appealing style and can see lots of Brides channeling it – so enjoy!

Ghost Chairs Love – Wedding Reception Ideas

January 18, 2012 by

Ever since I worked as a home designer in a certain high street department store, I’ve had a crush on the Ghost Chair. Designed by Philippe Starck for Kartell, I’ve spotted them popping up the the most stylish of weddings…

Now they are expensive – so unless you’ve a big budget or can hire them (and I’m sure some companies do) my advice would be to invest in a pair for yourselves and make a feature of your beautiful Bride and Groom chairs at the top table – or even create a ’sweetheart table’ just for two. Divine!
